How much detail do you have on the Iwo Jima map as of right now?  Do you have shore based Artillery on Sarbachi? JW!! Hope to play it soon!!

TRuekill the AH tile is 1 mile and you cannot change the alt inside of that once mile like you would need to on iwojima.

There IS a way to do it actually, but its not easy.  You must make your own tiles to meet the different shaping that you want.  Take the Midway map for example:  The actual island of Midway is custom made by the CM team to look like Midway.  They just took a grass tile and painted over it to make it look like a field.  In my opinion, its too much work involved :D

You sure can! Each "tile" is 1 mile BUT it contains 9 vortex's
The Center vortex within the 1 mile tile can be raised to a different alt as well as ANY vortex of the tile on the perimeter. The ONLY reason a full tile MUST remain at the same ALt at ALL 9 Vortex's IF it contains a field or any Objects ( excluding a spawn point)

Also the gradation of the Alt can be rounded to a hill. It is In the editor I just don't understand fully how it works, so I continue to Hand do them.

This is covered in detail in the HELP FILE and has been asked many times in the TE forum. If you would have looked at this thread posted on 4/26 you would have found a short answer http://www.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=115038
You should try using the search function. But, I'll cover it one more time in detail....

Open your map in the terrain editor.
Select Make Map and fill in the size and any other info you need to and click OK.

Using Windows Explorer go to Program Files/HTC/aheditor/terrains and then select the folder name of your map.
For this example we'll call it iwojima

On the top menu in explorer, select File, then select New, then New Folder.
Name the new folder texsrc

Now, start PSP and open the MAP.BMP for your terrain.
Which for this example should be in Program Files/HTC/aheditor/terrains/iwojima

On the PSP menu, select Colors, then select Decrease Color Depth, then select 256 Colors (8 bit).
On the pop-up window just click OK.

Now select File, Save As
Select the texsrc folder you created earlier
In the name box put the SAME NAME as your map. In this case iwojima
Click Save

Exit PSP

Start the Terrain editor and open your map.
You'll now see your map in the lower right window.
Select File and then Build
You know what to do with the .res file once it's built.

The rest is up to you. Polishing up the way the map looks is up to you. You need to decide what needs to be changed, colored differently, resized, lighting etc.

Most of the people you meet in life are like slinkies. Pretty much useless, but still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.
