I grew up around guns, got a 12 guage shotgun for my 12th birthday and hunted with it a lot. By the time my oldest son was 5, I decided it wasn't worth the risk keeping guns in the house so I owned none until recently.
With that bit of history out of the way I will tell ya that I now have a renewed interest in handguns. With encouragement, my wife has now expressed a mild interest in them as well. Since it has been so long ago for me with guns and little experience with handguns I thought it would be best for her to take an introduction course from the local range.
She went last night and sat through an hour and a half of classroom and then an hour and a half of shooting. While shooting, one of the casings flew down her shirt and lodged in the top of her bra. It was hot! She's swinging that gun around everywhere with one hand while trying to get at the hot casing with other.

The wise decision part? I didn't try to teach her.
