It won't spin. It barely does and you have to force it to do so. It recovers with almost 0 effort.

Hitech and SUPERFLY.. I sent you a film.. hopefully you can watch it, because AHII says the film playback feature is disabled in beta.

STALL LIMITER IS OFF!

P51 D 50 Fuel, take off, autoclimb.

Once stable pull back on stick for 2 seconds, starts to go right, then snaps hard left.

Recovery is however easy. I found no flat spins that I couldn't get out of like used to happen in AH1. (spun twice from 30k to the deck, recovered once at 5, and lawndarted the other)

Spin recovery here seems easier, more like what I would expect. IE stop spin, nose down, regain speed, pull out.

IMO pony stalls & spins fine, its the recovery your not liking?

Normal fuel conditions, start an abrupt left turn with max stick pull with maximum left rudder -> the plane immediately enters a flat spin, much like the Spitfire. While it is much easier to recover than a Spitfire flatspin, it still takes some time, having to reduce throttle to lower torque, and force the nose down until normal airflow is recovered. If left alone, the plane will not recover by itself and ultimately crash.

No disrespect Midnight, but if that's a "doesn't spin", then the Bf109 which is very gentle to recover and almost never enters a flat spin, is a neutered FM plane!

Having never actually flown a P-51D

I can't say how exactly t should spin. I only know what I have read.

To me it seems that this new P-51D in AHII is too stable or too easy to get out of a stall / spin.

In the film I made and sent to HT (I guess it can't be viewed) I was able to fly straight up to 0 airspeed. Rather than the nose dropping like a brick, it just casually slid downward and let me just start flying again.

I was able to make it spin, but it took effort, and the spin almost recovered itself. I put in just slight opposite aileron and it was out of the spin easy.

If you went opposite control as the spin was starting, you could get instant recovery.

My anger is from being told to turn off stall limiter, like I'm some gamer newbie that doesn't know anything.

Anyway, I feel that the FM in general needs work, if the P-51D can almost hang on the prop, I don't even want to see what an N1K2 can do.

Years ago I went to an AW con where "Grey Eagle" was showing off his video tape of a P51 flight he took in the rear seat . Something that He and the Pilot narrating the tape, made paticular note of, was the stall recovery of the Pony, that is in a straight forward stall, a P51 will "just mush down a little" and fly forward at stall speed. there were several segments showing this.
Accelerated stalls are another thing, but to get in to one you need to be in a hard turn when you stall.

Midnight, you can't expect much understanding of your findings until you give detailed descriptions like you just did. Just saying "The P51d doesn't spin correctly." does nothing to help us out, and comes off as sound like a baseless accusation.

You shouldn't take it personally, good troubleshooting starts with the obvious. It's very easy to overlook the obvious unless you make a conscious effort not to. We do the same thing internally here.

I was online when midnight was testing. I did the following test myself. Granted I did not check to see if stall limiter was turned off. I have not turned it on so if default is on or off that is the way its set. p51d 50%fuel 5000agl 300mph pull up in the vertical wep on. When airspeed reaches 50mph while still in vert cut throttle to 0% then pull fast max stick diflection and hold it. Plane will sort of flat spin but nose just drops and simply centering the controlls recovers. I will have to do same test in ah1.

A few years back in and in another SIM, I was at a Con and talked with Punchy Powell, 352nd FG. One of the questions asked of him dealt with the spin characteristics of the D model. His reply was something like:
(Spins in the D? Well I'm sure it's possible but we never worried much about it. I never considered it a factor.)

I believe that the stall limiter is ON by default. I know I had to turn mine off.
