Whats the closest airshow to Louisville Kentucky where I can hear a sonic boom?  Have never heard one, think it would be neat.

I'm guessing those events are few and far between nowadays.

Best place to see a supersonic pass is at sea. The shockwave literally stings your face. :)

I saw a discovery channel special on carrier aviation.  An F-14 did a Mach 1 pass for the carrier group.  All the sailors were on the decks watching the plane go past.  The F-14 streaks past at Mach 1, one of the engines blows up, and the crew ejects while going amazingly fast.

I don't think you can. Not in a city at least. Theey usually do a near-supersonic fly-by, but most cities have ordinances prohibitin ss flight.

Plus  Pancho's burned to the ground. Could you imagine what it would be like to walk in there if it were still open today?
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

Ever heard a gun fired?  The bullets make little booms on their way to the target.

An intentional Sonic Boom would never be allowed anywhere near a residential area.   I've heard is was done years ago (even in England) but those days are past.

I AM LAUGHING MY bellybutton OFF...

Yes i live in the birthplace of modern aviation

Yes I go to the annual pancho barnes party to celebrate Edwards AFB history

Yes I get to see history made almost every day here.

BUT:

I am 60 min from the nearest: wall mart, circuit city, best buy, applebees, decent bar, decent strip club, petco, HOME DEPOT.

There is NOTHING OUT HERE BUT DRY LAKE BEDS.

LMAO!

Dry lake beds are a blast.

When I was a kid, the family weekended on El Mirage.  We went mostly to sail (land yachting) typical speeds of 60 mph silently.  (Except for the sound of the wind.) Dad did 85 once, then spun out with loss of traction... ended up doing about 60 backwards.

When the wind didn't blow, dirt bikes, dune buggies, r/c flying, shooting, pull out the telescopes at night.

Gyrocopters were out there most weekends looking  for calm days, the SCTA had a few meets a year and garage mechanics would time thru the flying mile speed trap, and the soaring center is a world class place to catch thermals.  Sailplanes circled like vultures, five or six in a single thermal.

It was a great place to be a kid.
