Nice set-up.  Almost makes me wish I'd bought Nikon instead of Pentax.

Almost.  I'm not hardcore enough to drop that kind of cash on a camera and lens.

Nice bag, though.  I almost wonder if a freezer-pak would fit in the zipper case inside, as a way to keep the film cool.

Nice.  I went with a backpack setup instead.  It also handles the 300mm lense with a doubler on it.  My only real ***** is that it doesn't have a very good strapping system for the tripod.

You'll have to stop by my forum and post some pictures.  The link is in my sig.

Well i finally took the Kenko 2x Teleconverter out for a spin today, all pics were taken at 400 mmm.:aok

Was a tad concerned about the performance but surprisingly enough it's pretty good.

Heard this flock of Cormorants over my head before i even saw them. Managed to unzip (luv the toploader) quickly and pop the cap, the autofocus with the tele is still pretty quick and i managed to get a lock before they sped by.

Even with multiple close surrounding targets it managed quite well to lock on to the main subject didn't seem to wonder.

Mini you have some excellent shots and that's quite the gallery, what focal length do you usually shoot with?

Also do you guys have any tips on swapping out of lenses in the field or do you just stay with one.  Tips on lens care, cleaning and and keeping the DLSR sensor from harms way yada...yada.

Thx..cheers...

Excellent pictures Torque.  You're making me want to run out and buy a new lens sooner than later.  I don't have IS on my current telephoto and the 2x converter renders the autofocus useless... and I haven't quite figured out my eyeball focus offset.

You seem to have alot of Goldfinches up there too.  Not as many down here, though you can find them if you're looking.

I used to swap out lenses, but it's just too risky in the field (especially if there's any moisture).  I just leave my 2x converter and 75mmX300mm telephoto on.  I'm also pathetic with a monopod, so I carry a tripod wherever I go.  It makes all the difference in low light conditions.

Make sure you post some of those pics in the forum.  I'm not particularly competitive about it, but I do like to share tips with people.  Happy shooting.
