Bloom, I hate to burst yer bubble [yeah, right] but the Essex Class [short and long hull] had dedicated 5" guns until they got modernized after the war. Info is here:

Essex Class carried between 10-12 5" guns, 4 in twin turrets, 8 in single mounts. The Long Hull carried 12 up to CV-31, when only 10 were mounted. I doubt we're going to see 80 40mm Bofors cannons along with 60 20mm cannons. You couldn't be able to attack it without getting hit!

[edit]If that thing has more polygons than a Ju-88 my FR is gonna go to crap. No carrier landings for me; heck this old piece of junk had siezures when the WBs fleets would come into vis range. Little pauses here and there as each ship was being drawn. Real pain. Oh, and if any of you start griping, send me $1,800 to update this Rustbucket! :P

I dunno about damaging the flight deck but check this out. From The Fighting Lady by Clark G. Reynolds, describing a betty attacking the Yorktown

In the words of gunner Ed Wallace, batteries "6 and 8-my new battle station, opened fire with the 5 inch and I saw an enemy plane go down in flames and we kept firing as did most of the ships in the task force. The concussion wrecked two planes on the flight deck and at times spectators on the flight deck interfered with the firing."

sorry delta, but i think its time for the minimum standard of AH to be a p3-300 at minimum to maintain 30 FPS under normal circumstances.

no im not gonna send u money but computers really are cheap now. a p3-800 MHZ cpu now costs 220 dollars. a 566 MHZ celeron costs 65 dollars. Time to move on.

I for one can't wait for them to implement B-25's so we can take off from this beautiful thing.

I can miss that!!!!  No problem!!

So this is what the big hype is all about.  Here we need vehicle suppy convoys and roads, and this is what we get.  Oh please, can we have more Navy planes!!!

Looking for logical additions in 1.06!!

Rock:  Ya see that Ensign, lighting the cigarette?
Powell: Yes Rock.
Rock: Well that's where I got it, he's my son.
Powell: Really Rock, well I'd like to meet him.
Rock:  No ya wouldn't.
