Super, Question:
« on: November 15, 2000, 09:38:00 PM »
Any chance of duplicating that CV deck surface and pasting it on one of the airfields in beta?  Pretty please!  Just so us 'Ensign Eliminator' and "Tokyo Rose" type guys can practice up alittle?     I'm serious.

This would be a great training tool in the TA as a pre 1.05 release.  The kites with tail hooks get the tail hooks and the small fields get training traps on the ends.  Would make a wonderful training tool and great practice for all of us!
That way we don't botch up the first couple of 1.05 traps and it would add that much more realism.  Naval pilots have to have X number of practice traps before being able to go make the mandatory 5 carrier traps to be certified for carrier ops.

Haven't even looked at the terrain editor myself, but isn't it possible to build your own practice deck with it?

Yes, it is, but I would like to at least get it close to what we would be using in V1.05 in regards to the carrier dimensions, where the wires lie, etc.

Yes, I did once, when I was 5 years old, funny you should mention that.   I felt guilty as hell and trying to act surprised on X-mas morning was very difficult for that age!

So, never wanted to do it again, UNTIL NOW!!!

couldn't you just edit the artwork of the terrain with a strip in it?

or edit the artwork of the runways?

It would be easy to put it into a terrain, but it wouldn't be able to be added before 1.05.  It's really up to the 2 big boss men here, if they want to do something like that.
