ATi users: Cat Killer
« on: May 10, 2004, 05:08:05 PM »
Found this gem at ATi's site a few months ago. It works just like the Det Destroyer for Nvidia cards or DirectX killer. Since my display drivers were acting funny, I thought I'd give it a shot before reinstalling the Cat 4.3's. Last time I had to reinstall the drivers it really didn't work all that well. Add/Remove Programs did a real half-prettythanged job and I wound up with a sloppy install. This thing worked great! Killed off all references and instances of ATi's drivers with nary a hiccup. Reinstalled without fail and now AH2 isn't crashing after 20 minutes of play.

A note: Don't EVER run this puppy unless you want to kill the drivers. It acts like a normal installer, but right after you choose the install location it does a dance and asks you to reboot. Even though there isn't much warning as to what it's doing, this program works much better than the usual Add/Remove Programs crap in Winblows.
