Unfortunately, for some people this board is purely a way for them to verbally abuse people from a country they hate.

I rather look at it as a coming out.  For me its been an invigorating excercise, a terminal aquisition if you will.....

You are blinded with love sandman, feel the hatred, it warms thy soul.

It is for the joy of the arguement. Does not matter if you are right or wrong, but to refine your positions for real discussions that do not involve the internet.

A country they hate?

How about this...

A country that they love...

A country they look up to....

A country they care deeply about...

A country that they fear where it's heading.

If I saw my older brother messing up, you bet I'm gonna say something.

Hey Nash, to you for your honesty. I don't hate any country myself, and I admire many...like your country and the UK and Germany and many others.

Some folks like a discussion. Some like to argue. They are not the same.

The vitriol and rampant character assassinations are getting real old. They are fueled by those who thing trolling is something fun to do. Posting garbage just "to get a rise out of someone" is simply foisting your shallow phony self on others. It's tiresome and frankly not worth interacting with a troller. If you can't be yourself then why think others want a phony you?

Sad to see Udie go away, he like others have left after getting tired of the same old BS. IMO.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

I heard Udie's hanging out HERE now.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

I'm with Udie.  This is getting ridiculous.  It's almost as bad as what people were saying about France last year.

Someone made a post elsewhere, saying something to the extent of "look at all the locked threads over the last few months, add up posts per person, and ban the top 5 posters in the locked threads."

At least put em on probation.

That'd go a long way toward cleaning the place up.

I don't remember, sir.

What is that you've got written on your helmet?

"Born to Kill," sir.

You write "Born to Kill" on your helmet and you wear a peace button. What's that supposed to be, some kind of sick joke?

No, sir.

You'd better get your head and your bellybutton wired together, or I will take a giant **** on you.

Yes, sir.

Now answer my question or you'll be standing tall before the man.

I think I was trying to suggest something about the duality of man, sir.

The what?

The duality of man. The Jungian thing, sir.

Whose side are you on, son?

Our side, sir.

Don't you love your country?

Yes, sir.

Then how about getting with the program? Why don't you jump on the team and come on in for the big win?

Yes, sir.

Son, all I've ever asked of my marines is that they obey my orders as they would the word of God. We are here to help the Vietnamese, because inside every gook there is an American trying to get out. It's a hardball world, son. We've gotta keep our heads until this peace craze blows over.

Aye-aye, sir.

Have to love that movie....Kubrick was a GOD!!

SOB's gay triangle of quitters can no longer be defined purely in one dimension.

I'd say there was just as much xenophobic noise on this board as 'anti-American BS'. Then again, if you perceive criticism of US foreign policy to be 'anti-American BS', you're going to get your fragile, prissy sentimentality cracked before too long.

Good luck with finding a board that has unanimty of opinion. I'm sure there are plenty of far right BBS that are very pro-American; in the same way PETA bans anyone who even hints they like a steak once in a while.
