Please stop the entire TG from disappearing when the CV is sunk

I have seen some great TG vs. TG battles but unfortunately as soon as the carrier is sunk the whole battle is finished. Kind of disappointing since most people target the carrier first, and within 5 mins it gets sunk.

Some options:

1) All ships of TG has to be sunk before it starts out again - probably bad because the enemy won't sink all the ships

2) When the carrier is sunk it becomes its own TG with whatever ships are in port - there is an option to join ships (or other TGs) to make a combined TG when they are within vicinity (e.g., 1 mile). Possibly there is also an option to split ships off from a TG to make separate, smaller groups.

3) You can't sink the carrier unless all the other ships in the TG are sunk first (ala WB)

I prefer (2) but it is the most complicated. Thus, (3) would serve as an interm solution.

Suggestions/improvements/beer?

Maybe if the CV is sunk, any remaining ships would automatically turn for home port or whereever the new CV is. Then the ships could re-join the TG as you said.

I personally would like the re-gen time of the new CV to be at leat 5 minutes or something. Instant re-spawn is too (something)

I personally like the idea of no new fleet until the whole thing is sunk, but like you said, the enemy wouldn't sink it. I don't like the CV being artifically invincible until the fleet is sunk either. If the ships were worth perk-points to kill... YOU BET THEY WOULD DIE QUICK. Try that...

I think you should be able to command that big bastard up front separatly, yes it is good at escorting the group but it is such a waste of a hellraising vessel to be slaved to a carrier, i think the big ole thing should have the option to break off to either bombard a land base or attack a fleet on its own, its insane to take an entire group ESPECALLY a carrier close to another group for some gunplay.  think of the fun you could have roaming the high seas in that thing dodgine enemy bombers and hunting other groups, then imagine when this long monster meets another and you have yer classic high seas gun battle...sound like we are missing out having that thing stuck with the carrier. it should hav its own captin and its own agenda, if the fleet needs help sure itll help but it shouldent be stuck babysitting ALL the time, thats what those other ships are for.

I would like to have a few things.

1.  The WarBirds style where the CV is indistructible untill it has no escorts left.

2.  Another "PT boat", but in the form of a destroyer escort.  Its slower, but bigger.  Spawn them from a fleet.

3.  Troops available as a weapons loadout for the PT boat.  Granted you have to release them far from the base at the shore, but they can make it there.

Hans.

i think to make a carrier invincible is not what id like to see.Imagine you manage to hit it with torpedos after a real hard run and you get nothing! no thanks! the carrier takes 2 torpedos already so its tough enough
the idea of carriers was to stand off and send planes if we want more ship to ship battles but dont want everything to dissapear at once give the Admiral the option to scuttle remaining fleet once carrier is sunk so we can stay or respawn or only remove fleet when both cruiser and carrier are down.
I dont want to see unrealistic 'invinsible' crap thanks

TheWobble I think you got something there. The destroyers or/and cruiser shouldn't be locked to the CV. Maybe an option to do seperate TGs from them ?

Thats what I mean HaHa,
Have the heavy cruiser slaved to the carrier but if someone wants they can take command of the heavy cruiser and break off to attack whatever, there is no sense in dragging the carrier and all the other ships in for a job that only the heavy cruiser can do like bombard a filed or attack the enemy CV's at a distance of say 20k, noone in their right mind woud ever bring 2 carriers within sight on each other.

I agree with Wobble - the CV's should not be coming into gun range of the enemy fleet (I think it only happened once or twice irl)

Maybe a seperate fleet for shore bombardment?

Cheers

The heavy cruiser has more than enough armorment to sustain itself agains a moderate attack as well, and it would be very fun to stalk a CV with it while acking off figheter and swerving to avoid sticks of bombs and stuff, there is a real potental for a hell of a good time on that thing but with it stuck as a carrier nanny its not much fun..I would compare it to having a Performance package 2000 Corvette and only being able to drive it in school zones.

I see no reason to have any fleet what so ever with this map. evry base is close enough to each other that you can just fly to your target. the reason for a carrier fleet was because you dont have a close base and need the cv to get your planes there. but on this map, the carrier fleet is not needed. I look forward to when the feilds have some distance and a carrier fleet is then needed to attack with.

Some of the distances are pretty far between fields.

One thing I don't like is how vehicles don't get a distance spawn option - i.e., they are useless on this map except for defense.
