In Honor of Whitey, CO of the Buccaneers
« on: October 06, 2000, 12:56:00 AM »
On Saturday Oct 7th, 2000 at 7:30pm EST (5:30pm MST), the Buccaneers will have two events in Honor of our late Commanding Officer, "Whitey" Wannemacher, in the Special Events Arena (SEA).  His wife, Phyllis will be attending.  First, at Field 17 the Buccaneers will perform a missing man formation within view of the tower.  We ask that only the Buccaneers take the field for this event, so his wife may get a clear view of the tribute.  Upon conclusion of this event, a Volcano Dive will be held from Fields 37, 29 and 7 (one field for each country), we ask that all who wish to participate do so in the volcano dive.

Respectfully,
James "Jarbo" Pace
of the Buccaneers

Again I give my condolences to the Buccaneers and Whitey's Family for there loss<S>.My squad and I would like to attend the 2nd event, to pay our respects. I do not know the term "Volcano Dive" With no disrespect. If someone could describe it to me I can direct my squad with no problem to acomplish it.

Traditionally, a volcano dive consists of a multi country, peaceful, mass auger into a major landmark. On the current map, probably will dive into the black hole at the center.

For those who wish to pay their respects to Whitey, the CO of the Buccaneers there will be two events going on in the Special Events Arena on Monday, 9-OCT-00, at approximately 6pm Mountain standard time, 8pm EST, and 5pm PST.

We would like to request that all pilots attending these events enter the arena, change to knights and wait for instructions on which base to go to.

1.  The Buccaneers plan to first perform a 4-ship fly-by for Whitey's wife at field 17. Again we request that only these four aircraft be in the air at 17 at that time.

2.  Once the fly-by is complete. All pilots will be instructed on which base to take off from, (in any aircraft they choose), and fly over field 17, and in one massive group fly off into the sunset.  The Buccaneers will be leading this formation, so look for them.  You can Select Jarbo as wingman to pick him out, as he will be leading the Buccaneers, (although we haven't told him yet...)

3.  I will be video taping this for Whitey's wife to keep as a rememberance, along with a copy of the thread on Whitey's passing that many have already added their condolences to.

Any changes will be announced either here, or when everyone has entered the SEA arena on Monday.

Thank you,
mark

Also, since this will be filmed for Whitey's widow, we request that we all keep radio chatter appropriate.  I'm sure we all know what that means!

Thank you, in advance, for your cooperation!

<S> Buccaneers, an absolutely beautiful tribute, and I count myself fortunate to have been allowed to attend, and to be a part of a community that honours fallen comrades in such a moving manner.
I am sure that Whitey was watching, and you guys did him proud, well done Buccaneers, and my condolences to Whitey's family and friends, and to you his squad mates.

Thanks guys!

It was a real honor for me.

Ricken, I only have film from the #2 spot. Its a few minutes longer than it needs to be, cause I forgot to turn it off.

I dont have any place to post it, but I could email it if you like.

I screwed up a few times so you'll have to promise to close your eyes when watching
