Thanks RPM...

I dont plan on using it very much for PC Gaming, It would be a pain the neck moving my Computer around whenever I want a Big Screen Experience.
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

I'm not sure on the Sony's but a lot of the large plasma screen displays these days have some sort of de-burn feature, might be worth looking into.

wish I had the HD-tv.  I've been running my TV as an optional monitor for a couple years now. just ran the video-out line from the computer to one of the (video 2, I think) input slots on the home theater receiver.

with standard TV resolution it's not great for gaming.  but it is kinda for kicking around the net with the cordless keyboard and mouse.

looking back, I guess I ran all that cable, and screwed around hooking it up so I could downgrade myself from PC to 'net-TV'. :(

oh well.

The problem with hooking your computer to your HDTV is screen resolution.  TV is normally at 640x480 I believe. ATI makes an adapter that you can plug into the DVI port on their cards that will split the signal into the HD composite signal.. This will alow your computer to be displayed in HD. Memory serving correct, it gives you 480p/i  and the 1080p/i... p and  i are progressive and interlaced scans..  Only trouble beyound that is the ability to 'resize' and move your picture on the TV like you can on a computer monitor..  You can use a prog call Powerstrip for that. It works ok I would say.. Not great..

dude

Thanks for the Info Dude. I still havnt got around to hooking it up, although I'm looking forward to it. IL2 will never be the same again i'm sure.

Verm, your more than welcome to come up here, You just can't be allergic to cats. We have a lot of them! Unfortunatley I had to move the other computer, It sat next to the Original TV in that corner, and the network isnt  hooked up right now. So I couldnt blast you out of the sky in AH or TH. ;)
