2 vs 2 CON DUEL RESULTS:
« on: October 07, 2000, 08:16:00 AM »
It came down to undefeated DREX/EAGL vs undefeated UDIE/RIPSNORT for the finals last nite, as I type this, I'm working on 4 hours of sleep(BLAH, Cowboy up! as they say!)

First frame, Drex team picked P51's though I forgot to film it, I can say with confidence that they handed Udie and I our butts.Drex and Eagl both landed a kill.

The second film: (From Ripsnorts' cockpit)

Udie team picked FW190A8's with 4X20mm cannon.  This duel was won by Udie and Ripsnort, both landing a kill.

The third film: (From Ripsnorts' Cockpit)
 http://ripsnort60.tripod.com/duel2.zip

was the final matchup to determine who was the champ...a coin flip was made, and Drex team got their choice of A/C, asking for P38's (Ripsnort shuddders at that point)
It was close, Udie was shot down by Eagl, whereas I was faced with 2 vs 1...I managed to land some lucky hits on Eagl, whereas it was left to Drex and I for the championship...with me missing a snap shot after going vertical (Drex landed hits taking out one engin), Drex took advantage of my "One shot for all the marbles.." while I hammar headed down on him, and shot me down.

It was exciting, adrenline packed fight,<S> to Drex and Eagl for a great final series match!

I declare those results fraudulent!  The powers that be scheduling the two FDB squads to fight each other in the opening round was a horrible and, dare I say, unethical choice.  That is like seeding the U.S. Open with Serena and Venus Williams playing each other in the first round!

The thought of having had to knock their own squad members out of the tournament no doubt weighted heavily on the minds of the winners of that opening round.  There can be no other explanation as to why they were not in the finals making sourkraut out of Udie and Ripsnort or clipping the wings of Eagl and Drex!

I believe I predicted this in an earlier thread.  Can I see the future or what??

Actually, I know these 2 guys are 2 of the best stick flying any online sim, figured it was a done deal.  The rest are good, but these guys are great.

Congrats guys,
Dago

I heard that in consideration of Eagl's excelent handling of prop driven aircraft, the USAF is transfering him from F-15s to C-130s

When I click on your link: http://ripsnort60.tripod.com/film24.ahf
to download the flight-recorder files, I get
nothing but a broken link. I tried this on two different computers with the same results. I also tried " save target as" and that did not work either.

I think just clicking on "save as" will save these.  I couldn't actually download them from tripod via their link.  You may have to rename them once you download them.  I know IE has a tendancy to throw a ".html" at the end of it.

Since Drex and I had only flown AH maybe 20 times in the last 6 months, we sort of forgot that AH even had a video recorder...  Old WB habits die hard I guess
