Hurricane Mk 1 engine cuts out
« on: May 24, 2004, 06:59:08 PM »
When I am flying in the Hurricane Mk 1 its engine will cut out when doing a nose dive or a barrel roll. Anyone else have this problem?

That's the way they came. Negative G's made it cut out. Same with the Spit 1 if I remember correctly.

Remembering correctly is rare..

I thought maybe it could be the way it was made but wasn't for sure. I don't fly Hurricanes often if at all so I wasn't for sure if it was a bug or not. Haha, I feel kind of stupid now.:o

It's because they have carburetors.  When nosing over they don't have the capability of keeping fuel going to the engine.
