Removing old drivers
« on: May 27, 2004, 12:13:51 PM »
I have an ATI 9800 all in wonder, I would like to know how to remove old drivers and install new ones and what the best drivers for that card are.

I also have an Asus mobo with onboard sound and was wondering if I could do the same thing. It's the a7n8x deluxe with the nvidia chipset.

You can use Driver Cleaner 3 for both-

I just used DC installing the Cat 4.5 and Nforce 4.24s.
It works great, just follow the instructions exactly and I use the included Cab cleaner option, as well.

BTW I tried the new Nforce IDE drivers and then went back to the default Microsoft drivers.  Lots of complaints about these IDE drivers and I agree.  My CD burner, etc is much faster with MS.
It will ask during the install if you want the IDE drivers.

This worked great, thnx. Solved a big problem I was having with my sound drivers, I would get alot of background static like noise with my volume up. Thnx again.

Great call on the IDE drivers, I had some music CD's I made that wouldn't respond, working fine now.
