Auto Take-off, Trim, etc.
« on: May 28, 2004, 10:44:46 AM »
I'm having a problem with auto take-off, and the 3 trim modes.
In take off, the "auto takeoff" shows above the gunsight, but as soon as I advance the throtle. it dissappears and the aircraft begins to yaw off to one side.  Normally this wasn't a problem, but since my rudder pedals recently died, it makes it extremely difficult to take off with no rudder controls. (I've tried using the A and D keys as rudders, but that sucks....)
Also, the 3 trim modes - I engage them, but a few seconds later the light turns off and the a/c begins to move around.
What going on?  It does this in both AH1 and AH2.
Any ideas on what I can check to fix or correct this?
Thanks,
Debuman

sounds like you need to add some dead band to your stick. Go to the stick settups and watch the top blue box. all line should go strait across without any spikes. When you move the stick and throttle then you should see the lines move.

It your lines are spiking, find which axis is doing it and inch up the dead band slider till it disappears, remembering to "apply" each setting change.

With the stick spikeing the game sees you moveing the stick, so it takes it off auto take-off and the trim settings.

Maddog,
Thanks a lot!  That's all it took - works fine now.  I had set them all to the bottom as per suggestions I read somewhere else, but now it works great again.
Thanks again!
