was it med league or just a practice run through?

it was a lot of fun for us p38 pilots even though we screwed up and lost our buffs because of d3.0 enemy icons but what the hell

had the best dogfight over the ocean with camo's 109's and our p38s.

it was just like the stories you read about these swirling twisting dogfights very close in thanks to the d3 enemy icons which really kick up the immersion level.

it was a bit chaotic and disorganized (fog of war   ) but still a lot of fun.

Fester was my in game name until September 2013

Anyone get a film of that dogfight????

I'm sitting at work unexpectedly so I  would have missed it because of that and also I didn't know my assignment till to late. Will be there for the next one.

Btw I'd like to salute that 202 driver I met around 18 after the other 38's flew off for the buffs and we got into that long 1 on 1 until that 205 came along

Heh was fun.

I was flying for the Allieds, tue to unequal numbers. A Spit IX. So, me, Sox and a third Spit took off on our own and engaged  a huge number of enemies. I amanged to jump one c205, 1 ping, his engine gone. Hit one more in a HO; 2 Hisps hit on wing, wing gone. Third 205 got two hits on tail with Hisps, tail gone. Then a fourth chased me, I reversed went for the HO and boom, hit him with two or three cannon rounds. Down he went.

RTB, refuel, field heavily capped. Badly outnumbered, but manae to get behind and shoot down an enemy 109. The Camo shoots out my engine, I land, or try to. Bounce once, then again and then explode for no apparent reason.

But that Spit, man, forgiving aircraft. great low speed handling, super cannons. The Hispanos had the same effect the German 30mm has; 1 or 2 pings, wing gone. Only you only have to pull ridiculously little lead and it is much much faster.

Now I know I shouldn't feel bad if a Hisp/.50 plane shoots me outta the sky. The LW is outclassed when it comes to armament and maneuverability.

I think even with the D3 range we (38 drivers) still stick out like sore thumbs. Im sure camo and them KNEW what plane they were incountering before they engaged *wink wink*

The P38 is actually quite hard to see against the sky, since it is more or less white.

But the D3k icons were quite fine with me. It is a nice balance of gameplay and stealth.
