The Dambusters isn't a documentary.  It's basically a WW2 drama/action about the development of the bouncing bomb by Barnes Wallis.  617 Sqn is formed flying Lancasters and learn to fly at low level but they don't know why and what for.  They're then sent on a low-level mission to three (or four?) dam targets in Germany.  

I love it because it's nice to see the development, the problems they were facing and then finally the end target.  Amazing how they did it, not only dropping the bomb but navigating their way there.

"A la guerre com a la guerre" ("Na voyne kak na voyne"): a film about Soviet tankers (in fact - self-propelled artillery, "tank killers"). The combat scene when the Su-85 jumps upon a Panther and the crew counts seconds until they will be burned is really strong one...

War-time classics: "Nebo Moskvy" ("Moscow skies"), great footage of real planes. IMDB is wrong, the film was made in 1942.

"Stalingradskaya bitva" ("The battle of Stalingrad"), 1949-50: a good movie showing official Soviet point of view at that time. Stalin is a wise a tired man, and he makes good advises to Vasilevsky and other marshalls. The only film I can remember where you can see real German tanks in staged scenes.

"Dva boytsa" ("Two warriors"), 1943 : a story about two friends who fight in sieged Leningrad. Great actors, great music.
