Wind layer is a little annoying, I'd suggest making it more variable, as they are in real life. As the time presses on during the day, randomize them or perhaps make them more drastic in the storm clouds and such.
Use Cessna drivers know to watch out for those tall, towering cummulus clouds

And, most pilots that do a pre-flight check for the winds aloft forecast to choose what altitude will give us the a tailwind, headwind and such.
But, this would be a reality modification, surely something controversial

I think we should have it, but having it *always* at 12,000 ft is just way too predictable. Play with it, I say!
