P-47 sortie

After bieng killed twice by a tiger I decided I would get some revenge. I took off in a fully loaded P-47D30 and started climbing out to where the tiger was hopinh he would be there.  On the way I had to drop to the deck many times to abowd contact with the enemy. After finalty getting to the base I found many gvs, I looked around for my tiger friend and there he is sitting in the town fireing at friendlies. So I do a split-S and dive dropping 2 1000lbers and my 500lber on his head, he blows up:D . I fire my rockets on some more tanks scoring a m-8 and an m-16. I see a spit uping from the field and start climbing, he didn't see me till it was to late, boom it was my tiger friend:D . Another spit is uping so I climb again but he is watching me, when I came down on his 6 I droped flaps and followed but couldn't follow him. I see a Yak coming in with alt advantage so I retracted flaps and meet him head on I hit his radiator and he gets half my right wing, he started for base as did I (to mine)  I see another m-8 in the town and fill him with .50s then extend for home I look behind me and the spit is gaining as I huge the turain. I get the kill message for the m-8 or the Yak don't know. The spit is now withing 800 and pinging me I came over the hill finaly and lose combat trim to gain more speed the distance gets bigger but spit is still following after about 30 miles he runs out of gas and its my tiger friend:D . Now I am going in for a landing with a F6F trying to vulch I ran out of gas lost my landing gear and my other wing I am half way on and off the runway. I click tower as fast as I can the F6F is coming in I finaly got to the tower with 6 killes. I was so warn out and steaty I logged for the day. THANK YOU TIGER FRIEND <>

Last frame in the Kurland, I was in my Sturmi heading to P12. From 10k I dove down unloaded my bombs on the port, didn't have enough to take down warehouse but got a gun with my cannons.
I climbed back up to 7k. noticing to my left two 109's attacking fellow Ruskies. So I dive in , goin about as fast as that beast will go, I see one of the 109's isn't paying attention to my closing rate. He starts a lazy right hand banking tur towards my mate, I turn inside him and open fire. The lead angle was so severe, that the sprite hits were down around my gas gauges.....smoke one 109G10.

Seeing tracers flying by, i continue my turn and make it a half roll and start diving down. I figure now's a good time to try that overshoot thingy. I dive down right, kill throttle, roll upwards, while in roll, I see/ hear second 109 whizz by me. When i exit roll, give full throttle and right in front of me, starting a right hand banking turn is second G10,...turning inside with another volley of severe deflected shooting, ...bang, bang, bang...more sprites mid cockpit. When I levelled nose to look, voila, a second wingless 109G10.

Fear the killer Sturmi!!

What a blast that was. Of course facing the next set of 109's, the pilots worked together and killed me quite easily. (overBkil) But that was still the best fun I had for quite a while.

I took one of our newbie squaddies on a sweep to one of our bases that was under attack. I was flying a FW190A5, I forgot what he was flying. I gave him the pep talk about just following me and covering my arse. We get to the field under attack and I start a shallow dive to pick up speed from about 15k. As I dive through the furball, I pick off three nme figs in about 15 seconds with little twists of the rudder, hardly changing direction. We both sweep up out of the mess and get ready for another sweep. Well, by now all the nme figs are on the deck, so I decide to beat feet for home. Not the greatest of fights, but the quickest 3 kills I ever made.

:aok

Ok, they usually start to move about now d800, d700.
Maybe I'll get lucky.  Should I fire now at d600 he's still
not moving.  My heartbeat quickens and I can feel sweat
on my palm as I manuever under his six.  d500 and not
a move d400 - up slowly d300 carefully line up on the fuse.
My heart races madly, one move and the cat's outta the bag.
d200 and all my cannons roar.

Been flying for years and this STILL gets me.

Whats pathetic is a lot of people in the MA would read this and go,  "Man, that sounds like an AWESOME fight!!".

Good point, but because I'm not really any good in a 190. The nme planes on the deck where in turn fights and I probably thought my chances weren't very good. It also depends on whether I care of not and just barrel in blasting away. Any good 190 drivers out there up for giving me some lessons?

:)

Never furball in a 190, and try to get a nice aim at your opponents :)

I've posted this somewhere else, but it was a sortie where I found myself low and not so fast in a F4U. I was surrounded by Bish - in Spits and LA7s - what else?

On three separate occasions, I had a La7 closing on my 6 and had to barrel roll my way out of it. The first one began spraying from about 500yds and was still spraying 600+yds out. Another one had just begun to close on me but broke off. So I turned and got his Spit buddy. Soon after I had an LA7 and a Spit chasing me at the same time. The Spit augered as he tried to follow my barrel roll, and the LA7 looked like he rammed me - but no damage my end. Then another LA7 took up the chase, along with a 190...

... biggest surprise was that I did land the sortie with those 2 kills - the Spit I shot, and the LA7 ram.

Here's the film.

He broke off when he discovered it was you Beet1e. You had enough problems at that point anyway. You took enough hits and should have died mate.

-edit-

Got that wrong, looks like he rearmed after wasting ammo. :)
