Truth or myth? Any actual figures?

I know one thing for sure, fat girls are less and less shy about showing off their flab in britain at least (low cut jeans + high cut top).

Obessity in the UK is reaching record levels especially among children.

Over all, Id say that is true.

When Iv been over seas (I'm american) I really noticed the difference.

Sure there are beautiful women both places, but European woman just seem to take better care of themselves and dress nicer when out.

When recently in Rome, I could spot american women from a distance, normaly chubby, sweat pants, T-shirt and hair ratted up in a hat or something, just plain sloppy. The Europeans where dress to kill and had great hair and makeup all the time.

This last trip really reenforced that opion. That picture illistrates it well.

The facts are out there, America is 62% overweight, highest in the world. We have the highest standard of living. The "baggage" that comes with a higher standard of living is weight gain.

Doesn't tally, Ripper. It's got nothing to do with "high standard of living". Most of the obesity arises in the poorer/less well educated socio-economic groups. People don't get fat from eating Filet Mignon and foie gras de l'oie - they get fat from cheap mass produced fast food and an excess of carbohydrate - plus all those milkshake things - a poorly balanced diet which is lacking in fruit, salads and vegetables but high in potato chips/crisps, snacks and sweets. Besides, I wouldn't equate being a fat blob to a "high standard of living".

Which picture dipicts the poorer/less well educated socio-economic group? (yes I know it is an extreme example, but Americans and Europeans are already in the top 20% socio-economically on a world wide scale.)
