AH2, beta 36:

1) System details:

Dell Dimension 8300
Pentium 4 3GHz
256MB DDR ATI Radeon 9800 XT with driver 6.14.0010.6414
512 MB RAM
Windows XP Pro, updated from MS website.
DirectX 9.0b

2) Bar radar colors have changed from the previous beta 35.  They are now a faded grey-green over a faded grey-red, while in 35 they were bright green over bright red, if I recall.  Dot radar colors still bright green and bright red, as in beta 35 and as in AH1.   This condition is corrected by reinstalling DirectX9.

3) Certain planes still have gunsight glass darker than in AH1 (like Bf109G10).  Combined with the very dark (almost black) water, I can't see gunsight targets over water well enough to shoot, even at 2-300 yards.  This is NOT realistic.  AH1 had much clearer gunsights and much lighter-colored water.  Please say you will fix this; is a critical factor for game play for me!!!

4) Noticed on initial flight with beta 36 with new terrain, were numerous mini-freezes.  These didn't appear on subsequent flights, by in large, however.  Could these be initial loads of something?  Anyway was pretty smooth after that.

Some observations on my end as well....

Initially logged in today and my FR's were insanely low....teens to 20 MAYBE....with single digits....Tweaked all in game perf and closed all running processes as usual....still no help.

Did a total system reboot...ran enditall2 (just to be sure) and logged in a bit later 5 hours.....massive improvements....back up to normal (for me) FR's.

Note:  Pretty sure something was causing a bottleneck on the computer...and the temps were all consistent across the board.  The reset really helped alot.

Still getting freezes....not sure exactly what is causing them.  Seems to me that they happen for about a .25 of a sec.  Not stuttering per se but just a freeze at what appears to be random times.

I am sure everyone (if you are getting none please say!) is getting them...no skins loading so I doubt that could be it.

Pretty strange still but I am sure HTC is working on the freezing issue....also noted the blue triangles on Higher terrain areas.

Regards....:)

Mark,

I see we are running the same graphics card....what frame rates are you running and at what settings on the card.  I am maxed out in AA and AF in the direct 3d settings on mine.  I am running sliders back and forth for perf/detail.  Are you able to run full sliders for detail....and max range?  If so what are your frame rates...

Thanks!:)

When I have checked, frame rate 70s and above, even at 100' on field with lots of smoke.  However, I am using a moderate resolution, and detail settings are mid-range.  I will check this out further in next few days and update this post.

Thanks....if you wouldnt mind ....could you run at full detail and max ground range on the sliders at 1280x1024 or 1600x1200 and let me know what you get for frame rates?  Thanks
