Too bad the Steve and others have once again used his death to score points on a bulletin board

Was that for me? If yes; I don't care of any spelling errors, but the message itself...

Yeah, must be.  I don't know how you can sleep with the baby now...or is she not in the "crying at all hours" mode yet?

It makes a difference to me.  Being killed by friendly fire is horrible.  Much worse than dying from an enemy bullet.

According to Colonel David Hackworth, when he worked at the Pentagon, 15-20% of small arms wounds in Vietnam were caused by friendly fire.

It's been a problem ever since armies quit facing off against each other in nice, neat rows. Modern battlefields are so fluid this kind of thing is *almost* impossible to prevent entirely. It's an unfortunate part of warfare, but it's to be expected.

I believe our P51D(in aces high) is painted to honor a pilot who was killed by an m16. He was chasing a 190 and the m16 fired on him by mistake. Plz don't take that as fact, I thought that was what I read. I feel bad for the person(s) that fired, too, it must be a horrible feeling.

(and I still say he wasn't trying to spell possum!)
