I need OPINIONS
« on: June 02, 2001, 02:38:00 PM »
All the opinions about a historical MA, whether it will captivate the masses, or Pull from the MA.

Heres MY Opinion of a map i could make, and also would like the communities input.

Of course this would be instead of the dueling arena.

understand I am taking this poll completely on by myself.

The map would be ICONS OFF!!!!!! A BIG PLUS IMO!!!
the 2 historically matched up islands would be NO BUFFS!!!! theres a practice feild for that and jabo practice.

the CV fight is land locked.
And still retaining 3 dueling fields ( for those that need to be taucht a lesson

Feedback guys i need feedback, good or bad ( i'm sure i'll get both) and suggestions? additions?

If you look at that map, I'll put that "Raceway" map i made into it.( for those that "think" they can "Out fly" their opponent) That is a fun course , 88's line the cliffs so no cheating or deviation of the course is acceptable

I like 'em! To add flavor and making location calls a little esier, why not shape a CV map in the female form... with a Beer-Keg Island in her navel.

I've always had an intrest in the Pac type terrains.. something like a 'Guam' setup maybe. One island w/ an airstrip, lagoon and port heavily equipped with shore batteries and ack defenses... we could Do 'Midway', Pearl Harbor, Iwo jima...

I'd love a HA... but it's gotta be structured with an ROE and/or plane restrictions appropriate for the current plane and vehicle's we have. That means maybe 4 or 5 diffrent "micro-terrains' with just a few fields and locked planesets for each; rotated nightly??

I think.

Great work NUTTZ.. as always. <S!>

Everything looks good Nuttz, the only thing that is left out is one for ground vehicles, to practice taking hangers, guns, shore batteries ect. out or even tank duels.

Nuttz just a little info.

You can set the altitude of the 88 acks at negative numbers.  88 acks won't shoot until enemy planes are at 3000ft above the 88 guns altitude, so if you have a 88 gun at 1000ft it won't shoot until the enemy is at 4000ft or higher.  That means enemy planes can fly at 3999ft over top of the 88 guns and not get shot at.  If you sink the 88 ack guns 3000ft less than the land altitude planes wont be able to fly over them close to the ground.

Also can't remember for sure, have it written down somewhere, 88 acks start shooting at the enemy when they come within 2 1/2 to 3 miles of them but once the guns start shooting, it will continue shooting at the plane until it is 6 miles away.

That's how I had made a no-fly-zone.

The land was at 0 ft altitude and the 88acks were at -2999 altitude allowing tanks to drive in the area with out getting shot at but any plane flying by would.

This may be some useless info. but it may be something for the raceway.

Ah, so you are back?  Perhaps I misread but I thought you were threatening to leave or something a few weeks ago(?)

At any rate, nice maps....how's about the infamous "Giant Beer Bottle" as HQ?
