When u say lag are you referring to the delay that occurs to me frequently in buff gun turrets or are you talking about warps?

Connected thru Alt Route today, 220ppl in the MA plus another 40 or so in the SEA.

Connection was very good, atleast as good as it can be with 220ppl online and a huge war being fought.

Frankly; the lag and warps suked with 240 people on the MA server. It sucks when more than 140 or so are on.

If this is what weekend play is gonna be like then maybe it's time fer a weekend HA to take the strain off. This past sunday evening was miserable; I logged out disgusted with the whole damn thing.

It wont help if it is still on the same server. Connections today at beta.htc.com adn alt.htc.com were both very slow..as was this UBB.

Bummer... cause it became necessary to try and NOT fly together.. just too many folks in one grid and the system just went *COUGH* and spit the guys I was chasin out d2 to the side..  I dunno if we managed to just hit the wall on total numbers in the MA or numbers in a sector, or internet hiccups.. but whatever it was it was unpleasnt in the extreme. When I moved outta the area where the warps and lag was unflyable; I found those other areas to be 'better' but not much. Tried the 'alt route'.. same thing.

All the arenas are on the same server?? Wow. Scary.

Bloom...i do not see why you rag on teenagers such as myself.  I am 14 and I consider myself a very proficicent pilot and have never (well...maybe sometimes   ) caused trouble or have acted rude to anyone who did not deserve it....anyways...hava good one.

Now now, Nacho.. that wuz no 'rag' that Bloom put up.. just an observation.

This is a 'rag':

'Now, dammit; if it wern't fer all them young teenaged puppies out there draggin my fediddlein frame rates down and causin all these damn internet glitches, warps, comm hangups and generally just makin it harder fer us old farts to find a clean place to take a dump; this sim would almost be 1/2 enjoyable.'

Notice the diffrence??

I have to wonder how many tried the ALT connection to the MA this weekend?  Looking at the stats, the ALT connection was only at about 40% utilization.
There are things that are being worked on to alleviate and/or improve things.  This is just a matter of course.  The network is never static and we are always looking at ways to improve things.
Just looking at the balance in the bandwidth to the MA between the 2 connections, it would appear many either do not know they can select another route, or they think only one of the routes will always be better for them.
On the other note, the Internet has been a mess for about a week.  This coorelates with the annual insertion of the school types who have too much free time on thier hands  .
I see it here.  More of my clients staying online longer and more logged in.  If it happens here, then it is happening everywhere.
I missed loggin in Sunday, so I was not able to tell folks about the alt connect.  We have a lot of new players who are not aware they can pick another route to the MA.
If you see someone complaining about connects, ask them of they have tried the other connection to the MA.

When I logged in Sunday night at approx 21:00 EDT, I saw that there were 214 on the Main. I logged into the alt route and had no problems at all.

As a matter of fact, I rarely have much of a lag to speak of (no more than is to be expected) and I'm on a 56k dialup at home.
