Benchmarking frame rate in AH

I need some help here. Iīve recorded frame rate with B17C AND FW190 - VSYNC OFF. Here are my results:

Resolution - B17C - FW190

640x480 - 21 - 22
800x600 - 20 - 23
1024x768- 20 - 21

With ground clutter off though got better fps w B17C:

Resolution - B17C - FW190

640x480 - 34 - 27
800x600 - 30 - 28
1024x768- 28 - 26

Strange, isnīt it?

As a comparison, in Warbirds I have these results:
29 (lowres) and 28 (hires).

Doubts:
1. HiRes terrain really makes noticeable difference?
2. I prefer ground clutter off: clutter on my "flatten" differences of video cards. Anyone disagree?
3. Would u pls test with both 190 and B17? Those of u who use WB would pls report your results there too? It might be interesting to decide if weīd rather use 190 or b17.

I feel clutter should be off unless we have some assurance that all FE`s are drawing the sheep and other objects in the exact same place.

I did a quick test for you as my last ones were with vsync on <DOH!>

Celeron 466@525mhz
V770 32mb TNT2 O/C to 150/185 and "tweaked" registry values
256 mb sdram
SB Live Value
(1) Seagate SCSI Barracuda hard disk
(2) Quantum Fireball SCSI hard disks

1024 X 768 16 BIT COLOR HI-REZ ART CLUTTER OFF

FW-190 57 FPS

B-17  46 FPS

I no longer have WB on my hard disk, but my system is the same as it was for my last submitted WB benchmarks.

Fradim

I think you should put AH somewhere on the protocols page (and on the main page too) - it looks a bit confusing right now

"Tips" section would also be very helpful - maybe extracts from some of the posts here?

(You have "tech talk" section - could you modify it so that if someone has a question/problem with his DirectX, drivers etc it would be easy to find (or not to find for that matter ) answer to his/her problem?)

Hi lynx

Itīs true. I havenīt had time to create a new design to AH Benchamrk site yet. Anyway, Iīll put AH on the protocol page and others to make it less confusing.

I want to make "tech talk" a place where u can find some information (articles, reviews, tips, links) that may help u purchasing, upgrading/configuring you system to have a better experience w WB, AH and other sims. I havenīt done much yet, because Iīve just finished this site. Anyway, Iīll need help from experts. Itīs impossible for me to maintain such a site alone. I already have had some support from people like ndrtkr and aircat - both from WB community. But thereīs still a lot of room for improvement. Any candidates? ;-)
