Most memorable dogfight?

Is there a particular dogfight you remember that stands out more than any other?

Mine was in the North Africa map, flying for the 325th Checkertails.  In a Spit I got into it with a 109 and managed to shoot him down...but he got me real good, I wound up missing my left aileron and something else I can't remember.  I started flying west on the deck when I got jumped by 2 more 109's.  There was a canyon like area below me that we went into and it was like the pod race in the Star Wars movie.  It was not real fun flying that crate with only one good aileron but after a loooong amount of time (at least that's what it seemed to me) I shot the other 2 109's down and made back to a friendly base (barely).  I remember being so mentally spent on that fight I had to get up and go sit on a sofa for a bit.  I don't remember who the sticks were on that fight but a big to you guys.  

I am not sure if it was that same map/time frame, I think it was but I remember chasing Oldman in his 109 while I was in a P-40.  That was a great fight.  I think Lowe was there as my wingman and kind of grabbed a little alt and watched us.

Also, that 9/11 Memorial Flight was incredible.  Probably the biggest furball in CT history.  As I made my turn back into the mix after I returned from my climbout I saw 1Duke1 in his P-47 QUICKLY drop in behind me and I crapped my pants.  I don't remember who my wingman was but I was a smoldering pile of aluminum within 30 seconds after 1Duke1 got on my tail.

Most memorable fight never happened in the CT for me. It was on the Mindanao map in the MA and it was against AKCurly in the land area just over the northern section of the little gulf on the side near A25. We merged around 15,000 he was in a P-51D and I was in a Fw-190F8. I had just retunred from a CAS run in support of some tanks and troop carriers that were trying to take A25 and had piddled around and climbed out high for the return trip looking for some bombers.

 As I started slowing down and getting in the mindset of landing and rearming I noticed a contact dead ahead level at my altitude of 15,000. I put a call out over the range channel and squadron channel and got no response. I didn't think anything more about it till I saw the icon pop in as red and P-51. Well I was a little upset but I figured what the hell I was close to base and if I got damaged I could always try to limp home.

When we merged it was almost like we were waving and hoping the other guy would just keep on heading the opposite direction. About 10 seconds later I decided to check six the same time he did and we were into the fight then both doing check turns and thinking the other guy was turning to fight (according to the private channel talk after the fight).

So we merged again and played the rolling scissors, looping, Immelman, etc... for about 10 minutes then we both realized we were on the deck around 50 feet. I managed to chop throttle and get him off my tail in our last set of scissors and he overshot me since he could accelerate a bit better than my ride. As he flew over the top I pulled up and let loose with the full gun set and got some hits and visible damage. Curly decided to pull hard to the right and barrel roll out to the left. When he did I was waiting on him with the stall horn blaring in my speakers and drilled his right wing with the full gun set again and disentegrated his right wing. He impacted the ground pretty quick and then we spent the next ten minutes talking about how few rounds we actually shot at each other. I had only used 20-30 cannon rounds and about 150 MG rounds. I think Curly told me he used less than 200 rounds total and I didn't have any visible damage but had heard several pings from his hits.

All total I think the fight lasted something like 12-13 minutes with the end finally happening in less than 10 seconds but seeming like it was 10 minutes by itself. I landed and talked to Curly then called it a night. It was my first and last sortie of the evening and I figured there was no better way to go get in the bed than that.

Finland/Russia map.. was in a yak (go figure) and had 3 people on my six over water, flying low. Somewhere below  500 feet. I glanced back, knew that they were gaining on me; and I figured, "What the heck. I'm gonna die anyway." and put the nose down into loop, put down a notch of flaps and rolled it over so I was no longer inverted and just skimmed the water (Woulda been able to reach out and touch it!), and then had enough time to look behind me and see 3 planes crash into the water in a row. Man I wish I had that one on video.

Once I was flying 109g10 at MA.
After long fights with N1K and P-47 (or something else) I desided to disengage - was short on fuel ammo and engine was allready hot.

I dived and exited fight when I have seen Yak trying to catch me. I was ok but I figured out that my engine allready overheated...... No WEP..... Yak started to close distance slowly..... I was with canon pods, allmost out of ammo, with ouverheated engine with Yak on my 6 closing on me.... Allmost no chances to survive......

That were most aggresive sissors I ever had... I think yak didn't expected them after 2-3 turns I managed to put couple of rounds in HO..... I hadn't seen if he crashed in water or was havy damaged..... anyway he wasn't near me and I get a kill.....

just the other night was a good one

was in 109f with gonds and 50% fuel

flew over to some ruskie base and had a two on one, then they started coming in singles, la's/yaks

at about four with low fuel I started back but had to reverse a couple of times to knock down the ones sneaking up on my six in my slower a/c.

landed with 7 kills and no fuel or cannons, just a couple of bb's left

Outstanding Eagler...sounds like you get extra fired up against those Ruskie boys.  

And imagine, you in a 109F...go figure...
