Trees... more pain than good?
« on: June 23, 2004, 10:49:20 PM »
I swear i have lost more vehicles to trees than gv's..

Why is it when I try to crawl through the way to tight groves of trees at 1 mph I can still flip over or get spun 180 when i touch a tree?  would it not be better to spread them out a shade and spread the top cover so folks can reasonably drive through the groves?  It's a fine idea but the practicality of driving through them seems a bit rough for me.  thoughts?

ooo, I did. Followed a p38 up in a spit - 600 out. Getting slow - dropped flaps, still following him - 200 out but the sun is hiding him. He falls past me and I start to spin - not just spin but tumble.
Lift flaps - still tumbling, try rudder - still tumbling, cut throttle and let go of stick - YAY the nose is falling down now - and no spin. I begin to gently pull up -YAY! The nose is comming up and I'll clear the ground! I'm gonna get out of this. But NOOOO.
TREEEEEEEEEE!!! CRASH .

Trees matter :D

I thought the trees provided cover from incoming ordinance? Fubar dropped eggs through the trees on me..they didnt even explode but a shell hit my tank and my engine died. He than came around for a secound pass and dropped high enuff to arm ord and killed me sitting under a tree. Whats the deal?

If you dropped a 500 pound bomb on top of a forest, would it it the trees first? Or hit the ground? Most likey it will go right through the trees and hit the ground... So there ya go.

almost hijacked...>

What I'm talking about is the close spacing of trees in some groves and the tendency of vehicles to bounce off them like super balls when they touch them.

I actually have killed several folks by flying between trees but thats another thread...>

sounds a bit like a bug rabbidrabbit.  Make a post in the bug forums just in case.  ;)
