Omega Vs Catalyst for 9700 in AHII
« on: June 07, 2004, 07:11:39 AM »
Opinions wanted.
What`s best for AHII running the ATI Radeon 9700, the new Catalysts drivers or the tweaked Omega drivers?
I am running the Catalyst drivers now, but am still getting the 1.5 to 1 K minifreezes.

I am running the Omega 5.2.44 or...CAT 4.5's.  All Omega does is Pre-Tweak the ATI drivers so you don't need to use a Tweak proggie.  Probably the best thing all told is that each driver set uninstalls the previous as it installs the new.  I have a ATI 9600XT now but I have used Omega's stuff on NV cards also.  I'm sold.  I doubt it will help the mini bumps.  Most everyone has them.
