I think for tour 18 I'll try flying the P-38 for a tour. That ought to be an interesting challenge.

Dunno if its as interesting as trying the P-51B for a tour

Uhm BlauK, here's how it works...

A pilot that has 30 kills and survives the war has 30 kills to 0 deaths. Therefore he acquired 30 kills and didn't die. That's 30 kills for his "career". Thus he hasn't died at all, so he 30 kills on his record. This is 30 kills, 0 deaths. Simple math: You can't divide by 0. Therefore he has a 30:0 kill/death ratio... well that still means he had 30 kills throughout his career.

A pilot that has 30 kills but dies during the war has 30 kills and 1 death.
30kills to 1 death ratio
30:1 kill/death ratio. He died once (one life), but he still accrued 30 kills. Therefore he has 30 kills throughout his career but he died.

They both got the same number of kills, but one died and the other guy lived.

See how it works?

Put another way, you are going to die, but we're not sure you're going to get any more kills, so we figure right now you're 30:1.

I will not get further into this, just one example:

In AH we can fly after death unlike in real life. Here you can score 15 kills, die and score another 15 kills. That is not 30 kills per career.. that is 15 kills per career!!! You cannot know at which point that 1 death happened.

My comment on DB was only because his K/D is much better than anyone's on DjV's list. DjV only wants to calculate so called ratios for those who fly the most.. not the real K/D ratios or overall performance.

DjV's top killer stats are nice though. Ratios are only imaginative.

Fine, ignore the career thing... he only died once though... doesn't matter when, he managed 30 kills and died once.
The other guy managed 30 kills and didn't die.

30 divided by 1=?
30 divided by 0=?

30/1=30.0000
30/0=Undefined therefore we MUST add a 1
 
Both managed a kill/death ratio of 30kills.

Actually we are about tied on # of air to air kills in the 109F.  110 of my 109F kills last tour were GVs.  It's an interesting attack platform.
