How many from Tampa...ever?

Was I born in Florida, NO, actually from further north then you.  Started skating by two, was playing hockey from 4 till 22.  Pick up, adult leagues, and coaching after that.   How about you?

Oh yeah, frozen ponds, local rinks, we still play at Hockey Town on Rte1, although not as fast. And we still manage to get in games up at Mt Hood, you know, where ponds actually freeze?

lol, so skating all summer at an indoor rink doesn't count....????

Oh, I didn't realize Florida had so many indoor rinks

because you live in a northern area does not make you "better" because you start skating on a pond.

I don't know, the proof is in the pudding, where's your list of locals?

The youth programs have kids as young as three participating, and when I coached "peewee" in Orlando, our program had a couple of two year olds skating at the mini-mites practices.

A couple, that's it?

give it time...

I know all about freezing, skated in the parks here most of the winter, and played a few pick up games over at Chapel Hills Mall, and one open tourney down at CC's arena.

4 arenas in Orlando area alone.  Probably more like 6 rinks though, because two have atleast two pads.  Melbourne has one, Lakeland... St Pete has atleast two.  Been awhile, but I can not remember all of them, but I do remember driving the kids to different games.

That list of locals is mostly in their early teens... rinks became popular only over the last 10 years.  Give it time.

One small program, and, I did not coach minimites... and that was two year olds.... I believe there was close two 60 kids nvolved in our mini-mite program, but can not be 100% sure.

This is a waste too continue... enjoy your summer... atleast you can watch Rolston in the World Hockey Tourney....

this is probably the best stanley cup final in years.  Well played and hard fought by both teams.

The best part is no Detroit or Colorado team anywhere to be seen :)
