Problems with freezes and frame rates
« on: June 05, 2004, 11:01:50 AM »
While playing AH2, which loaded correctly etc., I have and am experiencing multiple problems with screen freezes and frame rate drops on twon different computers.

Computer #1 Gateway 700X

Intell P4 1.9GIG 1GIGRDRAM ATIRadeon8500 128meg 19"Monitor

Computer #2 Dell 8200

Intell P4 1.9GIG 1GIGRDRAM NvidiaGeForce4 128meg 19"Monitor

The problem is persistent enough and equal on both machines making it not feasible to fly AH2, Other parts of AH2 are fine.

I have disabled all but "horizons" in AH2 settings, and have disabled all things that go bump in the night that run in the background on my machines.

Dear Abby>>I need your advice

Try this;

Run AH2 at 1024x768
Set the maximum texture size to 256 for both systems
Turn off Transitions
Set the Detail slider more towards the performance side

See what that does.

it does go away .. but it can be irritating .

Guys I went through the same frustrations!!!!

My Dell was not cutting the mustard....

My new system got here yesterday and there are NO problems AT ALL!!!!

Also make sure you dont have any conflicts with older drivers, progs running in the background, etc...standard stuff....

Regards and good luck!

1.3ghz
512 sdram
gf2 64mb

game set at 800x600   256  on a 17in monitor

i managed to get thru a ton of dogfights without freezing

I didnt mess with any buffs though ...
