Help for connections (maybe)

This was sent to my squadron's mailing list by one of our guys. Might help.

Subject: Microsoft Patch for TCP/IP

Seems to have got a lot of interest since it's launch..  especially over
cable/dsl connects but reports coming in that high speed 56k modems also are
improved..  YMMV but it sounds like it would be very applicable to something
like WB based on the kb article..

Unfortunately this did nothing when I tried is out on both the PC's I have. One is Windows 950A and the other OSR2. Each time the self exectuing program said the patch was incompatible with my version of Windows.

Oh well. <shrug> Was worth a shot.

I got the same message, Westy,  and went and read the info file on it: seems that if you don't have winsock 2 installed, the thingy won't work/install. I had winsock 2 installed a while back, but I removed it and reinstalled the earlier..can't recall why.

I'm assuming this was intended for Win98/2000?
