Need help with interpreting the Map Patience Please

I am new to AH and not real sure how to interpret the map.
Am I correct in assuming Red squares are NME A/C? (flying Rooks – Green)
One square = One NME?
Is there an alt limit below which u can’t be seen?  If so what is it?

Assumptions all correct sir!  Not know about any height to fly undetected tho.

The country you fly for will always be green and any nme you encounter will always be red, no matter which nme country they are fom.
