I don't remember which started when, but seems like WWIIonline started development about the same time if not sooner than AH?

And for those who care to ask "You have no idea bla bla bla"

I do...

And I being the MAster of the Obvious, know your still on the AH BBS, rather than playing WWIIOL. Hmmm, I have a good idea as well.

I remember a looong beta followed up by a free download here at AH before I decided that this was where I wanted to spend my online money  :)  And it is still that way.

This new infant on the block may not dig too deep into the monthly budget but I think it is going to be high maintenance and in the long run cost the same. Right off the bat I'd need to upgrade this PC to get a decent fps?  My 600mhz isn't going to cut it and the graphics are definately a several bars below AH.
But even if I had a 1.2gig kitchen sink PC I need to first *buy* the cd the game comes on? Then rush home and download a patch that is 5 times the size of AH itself?  While later on I'd have to buy more cd's for more theatres and undergo with more large patches?

 Anyone been 5n1p3r3d yet?  ;)
Course it could be fun to open an account and complain about how the 109 FM is porked and both it and the Stuka are overmodelled!  :)  Start an Anti-Allied Conspiracy!!  ;)

***DUE TO THE HIGH LOAD ON OUR SERVERS, THE FORUMS WILL BE DOWN THROUGHOUT THE DAY, SO THAT USER SIGNUPS WILL NOT BE HINDERED***

From WW2OL forum.

Looks like they have more than their 10 servers capable of serving 10 000 players (each) can handle.

You guys are funny.  You sound like the AGW when they released AH.

Yea, but AH was a FREE download and FREE  beta and FREE  trial period.  Unfortunately WW2OL makes you shell out big $$$ for the privledge of being a beta tester   :(

I would tell ya how many were already in and playing while I was trying to, but I can't. I will tell ya this, it was almost twice as many as I've ever seen in an AH arena. Obviously, I didn't make it though huh? Go figure.

We'll see just how well WW2OL will do.  It's basically a strat game, we can't get 30 bish working towards one goal.  How will they do that with over 500 people on a side?

wait and see attitude here.  Methinks that diehard flight simmers will be disappointed.  saw some graphics , cockpit views from a spit straffing a panzer.  I wasn't impressed.  and I doubt seriously if they've put the time and money into correct FMS' with so much other code to write
