Well... they certainly spent the money on effects. It can't be any worse than "Freddy vs. Jason". :)

Saw the trailer yesterday when I went to see Riddick. I have a strong suspicion it's going to be a train wreck that I'll have to watch. I really wish they'd just adapted the comic into the screenplay.

I can't wait to see this movie, been watching it's progress for years.
"Willy's gone and made another,
Something like it's elder brother-
Wing tips rounded, spinner's bigger.
Unbraced tailplane ends it's figure.
One-O-nine F is it's name-
F is for futile, not for fame."

Hmm how can I put this gently?

Wait for the dvd :D

I really like the "character" Riddick. I was very worried that Vin's awesome acting (cough) and ego would ruin the sequel. But, that wasn't the worst thing in the movie. The direction was horrid. I swear there were times when Twohy told Vin "Roll over and play dead", literally.
Plot holes like swiss cheese. Unexplained seemingly important to the plot stuff (like the armband thing in the spaceship). Lack of key character development. But the absolute worst thing was the last 5 mins. I could have maybe exercised a huge amount of suspension of disbelief and gone with it up until then. They totally blew it at the end.

On the bright side...special effects were decent. There were quite a few humorous points. Best of all, with a few minor mods I get to use my Halloween costume again. ;)

All in all, if you're expecting a blockbuster summer hit...this ain't it.
If you don't have anything to do during matinee hours and just want to see people getting efficiently smacked around, it's decent for that.

I have a few friends still wanting to see it. Maybe it will be better next time. Oh, and his next movie is supposed to showcase him in a comic roll. That I have to see.  I must be a sucker for train wreck syndrome. :D
