Does the sun really have to be so bright to give you eye strain? Couldn't you obscure the controls and make the whole screen dimmer? I flew 4 missions into the sun and I was done - I had a headache from it. Realistic I guess, but my head is throbbing.

Humans, pretty much instinctively draw away from exposing their sight to direct sunlight. We never realize the sun is so damn bright, because in reality we rarely, if ever, look at the general direction of the sun.

I'm sure it could be different among people, but for me, if I intendedly look in the general direction of the sun, not looking directly at it, it's still too bright and shiny that I immediately have to look somewhere else. The sun light is that intense.

I think the intensity is about right. There's just choice but to try not to fight looking at the sun <- hey! this is of tactical value already :)

Today, there was a big fight between A22 and A25(I think). The sun was rising on the horizon, the enemys were directly at east of our base. Ofcourse, that means that they came from the direction of the sun, with the sun on their backs. Having to fight with the sun in front of us was very disadvantageous, and I and my fellow pilots found ourselves struggling to position ourselves to put the sun on our backs.

It was a very interesting experience, and enlightening in regards to the tactical value of using the sun to one's disposal :)

IMHO it is the best thing that HTC added to AH2.
I do not care of hi res textures or bullet holes on my wings but SUN.

Well done HTC

Opus , I have the very same problem with it in  AH 2 ! As for realistic  sunglare ? .... hardly . no matter where  the sun's location  is in game, look towards it location,  it's like looking at arc from welder .

It has stopped me from playing all together... 10 to 15 minutes and I have a headache down to my ankles,  from eyestrain  . I have spent lots of hours in AT 6s and when the fog and sun combinded to make a far lesser  kind of a sun  glare at Chino Airport,  we stayed on the ground a short while untill the fog and haze burn't off . To bad AH 2 has to have this "new feature" 24/7 in the game .......

They toned down the brightness a tad to far - used to be even more overwhelming
It needs to be bright enough to hide in which is barely the case now

suggestion:
if looking into the sun gives you a headache - don't

In ww2 the pilots used the sun to their advatage... Now WERE able to do the same :)

I think it's fine the way it is. If you get headaches, dont look at the sun! Infact, it's doing what it's supposed to do. Makes the game even more realistic.

So if you start to head towards the sun, close your eyes or break off... That's what would have happend in real life anyways :)

I've often wondered why I can't block the sun with my clipboard :)
