Alrigtht, I'll admit it...

I'm excited.

Anyway,

Someone mentioned getting free issues from AOPA and something about Medical/Student Pilot License.

I went to the AOPA websight but did not see an offer.

I guess what I'm asking is, after I logged my first hour and giggled like a little girl for hours as I stared at my log book...what the hell do I do now?

Remember, aside from fly for 1 hour...I've done NOTHING!

Help!

does your instructor have a plan of action for you?  Did he tell you what is next or just kinda let you go after the first flight?

Or are you asking whats next as far as the medical and stuff?

They have a seperate site for flight training info.

http://flighttraining.aopa.org/

Click on the 6 free issues for the Flight training magazine link.

The flight you did was called a discovery flight. The next time you talk to your instructor he should be briefing you on what to expect for the next few flights, and presenting you with a lesson plan of some type.

Something you should do in the mean time is get your medical out of the way. Here's a searchlist of Medical Examiners.

http://www.aopa.org/members/databases/medical/

If you only plan on flying for fun, tell them you want a Student Pilot certificate with a third class medical. If you plan on making any money down the road, go ahead and get a first class medical to see if you meet the more stringent requirements. The key thing to mention, though, is the Student Pilot cert.

The reason for getting the medical done asap is in the rare case of your having something that would disqualify you, you wont end up wasting a lot of money on flight training. If you do end up having a medical issue, ask them or your instructor about a "SODA"

Done-ski.

Thanks, Jigsaw.

My CFI did not really make a plan yet as I only did the intro flight.

You want to laugh?

I was so excited, I did the walk around pre-flight last night while falling asleep!

I have not been this excited about anything in life since...well since my daughter was born.

Matter of fact, its the same kind of "WOW" and "How the hell am I going to do this" feeling as being a father.

well call him up and tell him you want your license....he should then have a plan ready for you.  He will guide you through the process, if he doesnt get another instructor.  Getting an instructor you get along with and genuinely wants to teach you is important.

Some are just building time and some really like teaching.

I'll do that, thanks.
