FW190D: "Yellow 10"
« on: June 15, 2004, 08:28:55 PM »
Is this worth putting any more time into? There's obviously a ton left to be done.

I should probably start with making the black 14 into a Yellow 10 eh?

This is one of the oddest camo jobs the Luftwaffe ever fielded. The balkenKreuz's and the defense bands were painted over heavilly in the field, The landing gear spats were bare metal and the wings upper surfaces had patches of bare primer showing through the three color camo.

So back to the original question...does this seem interesting enough for me to continue working on?

I'd fly it a time or two :D

Looks like you've already put quite a bit of work into it already, so I'd say finish her up at least. :)

i think its a good start... the pics of it i have seen look even more "busy", but that may have been from the size of the pic.

it does look like a distracting scheme up close, but from a distance i'll bet it would be UBER hard to see from above on the new AH terrain.

personally i would like to see this skin.
I don't know what to put here yet.

It'll be a sweeter pleasure to fly it knowing how difficult it was for you to make it.  :)

I found one drawing of Yellow 10 that showed a light yellow/tan primer on the top of the wings but also found three others that did not....hmmm.

Anyhow I agree that the flauge was not busy enough, my brush was too large so i took out the yellow, added the "10" (I think it is not bright enough though) and busied up the pattern. Here's round two:

Still need to put the green spinner in and adjust the supercharger color. BTW, for all you Luftwaffe experten...Wasn't the D9's spuercharger intake on the "driver's side"? Our D9 has it on the passenger side, which is where the D11 and D13 had it, or do I have it backwards?

What I need to know is the issues around the 1024 artwork conversion. Can I plan ahead and make my files fit for that when it arrives? Maybe I should post on the skins forum...

Sorry guys, I was watching those screen shoots, they're good like all of you can see but......I was thinking about the effort to make so nice skins, they make confusing the plane silouette with the terrain but......all is uneffective because of the icon system HTC have adopted for AH1 and now for AH2.

Pay attention I don't say the icon System is bad, I only say this system make de facto making every skin a mere hobby withouth any effect over the real play.

Infact you still can't hide yourself over the ground background (I'm sorry for the words  play) because your icon reveals you'r there.

WW2OL have the most effective icon system and I think all the simulators that uses icons must comply with that sorta icon system.

The more you watch in a precise direction the more accurate you see, so if you take a look all around in few secs you could don't have the awareness of a near enemy because he is hiding with the background.

I don't know if I was clear enough.

Uhm.....m8, what you said is not totally correct because you still can seen PARTS of icons and this parts reveals your position becuse the red color is a very good and visible FLAG:( .

I think a little effort more from HTC could make this game a real unique game.

And more, do you really think to see a real aircraft from 6K even at 10k altitude fading with the horizon ?.

I think only a few pilots could have so accurate field of view, like in the real it was.

Take a look at the 6th picture, would you say to see an enemy plane that is still a little point and more of all that it is a pony in the reality ?

Compliments, make a telephon call to NASA and say them you don't need the Hubble telescope :p :D
