Glad AHII is finally out but
« on: June 18, 2004, 01:51:14 PM »
Please don’t turn all your burners on the TOD you have planned. Speaking for myself and many others I know of would you please start making some new aircraft, ground vehicles and other game play improvements. That was a LONG walk across the desert and we need something to wet our appetite.

The TOD sound great, but IMHO we now need some new AC or GV’s for a while. Having to wait several more months would spell disaster for an old time squad that I know of.

My two cents.

I don't think they are mutually exclusive.

Almost everything going into the ToD aspect of AHII will have Utility in the Classic aspect.

Any planes modeled to fleshout the planeset will undoubtedly be available in the classic arenas, The same goes for Terrain, or any changes in the flight model. AI/Mission aspects may well be used in future Special Events.

Without a doubt there will be aspects that find little if any use on the classic side (I don't think the Avatar bit will have much carry over), but I feel that there will be enough mutual benefit between the developement of ToD and Classic that you will not feel the burn of neglect as HTC moves forward. At least that's my hope.

For us too.   AH was always about constant improvements and upgrades and we want to get back into that swing of things.  ToD will be a parallel development so you don't have to worry about all other improvements coming to a halt until ToD is completed.

I believe that HT had said a long while back that the first "theater" for ToD might be ETO related (8th AF etc..)

This maybe a forward question but I was wondering if during the development of ToD and particularly in terms of "theaters" would determine the types of new aircraft that will be introduced.

Or are the 2 separate. I remember reading a post a long while back about picking planes for the main that filled some roll that was other wise missing.

Has this changed?
