April 1944 allied bombing raids were reaking havoc on the German forces struggling to stay in the war.. a stunning red aircraft with unusualy fine lines stands in the tall grass waiting to unleash its deadly payload... The time comes I climb into the cockpit wondering if I will ever return home again. above the drone of bombers overhead is deafening like 1000 angry hornets. I am bolted in the sweat condencing on my palms and forhead.. waiting for the sound of liquid rocket fuel to be eqnited.. Finnaly it comes and I am forced back in my seat as I climb away from the grassy field. I maneuver into the bomber stream and unleash fire from my cannons upon a surprised flying fortress and it is over I glide in for a landing dazed........ the era of the jet has begun

Its the plane from Major Rudof Sinner, Gruppenkommandeur III. JG7, Briest 1945

I had to search a while to find an more uncommon camouflage for the 262. Lots of them have the same look.
Since i didnt knew how the wings were painted, i took the following profile.
I guess it could be possible.

One question is left: Did the 262 have rivets along the panel lines? I didnt found any pics. Maybe someone can help me out?

Thank you Temset!

Ok, there are a couple of rivets or 'bolts'. But not as much as other planes had.

Ecke,

actually, the 262s did have alot of rivets on them, but  the majority of the fuse rivets and joints had the tape/filler put over them, but the wings were pretty much standard flush rivets.

Take a look here.

http://aircraftwalkaround.hobbyvista.com/me262/me262.htm

theres a few pics of the bottom wing close up near the engine / gear area. The flash washes alot out, so you gotta look carefully.
but they're there. The top would show them better due to the darkness of the paint. You can eyebal the tops of the engine nacels for that. Again, it's all on how the lighting is. some pics you can see them fine, some you cant.

I would say at least do the top wing rivets, but do them toned down. Just for the view from the cockpit.

Also, I've found that rivets help give a "textured" feel to the wings.....sometimes I even exaggerate them a bit just for looks.

Great Work ECKE.

but are you sure your using RLM colors, the 262 seems a bit to red to me.

more info here: http://www.xs4all.nl/~rhorta/jgrlm.htm

Danke Maik,

i copied (sp?) a RLM colour chart from the web, but forgot the source. This 'red' should be RLM 26 'brown'.
Tomorrow i will check if the colour charts are different.
