If you want it so that at first, large movements in the joystick, result in small movements in flight controls, then extreme movements in the joystick result in extreme movement in the flight controls, do this.

Imagine a U shaped object with the very bottom being at the first one.  Shape the sliders so it looks like the right half of the U.

So you can finetune small controls, but go to heavy controls if need be.

I myself, have the sliders set to a line.

lousy stick.cfg reappears!!
« Reply #17 on: May 10, 2004, 01:31:53 AM »
I followed every1's advice re deleting the problematic stick.cfg file & replacing it w/a good 1 such as AKAK's which I did.

The problem now  is that after a few minutes AKAK's stick.cfg dis-
appears & is replaced by the old deleted stick.cfg

Generally this happens in the middle of a dogfite when all of a sudden I've little control of my a/c...it starts to weave, upon chec-
king my setup, sure enuff, the problem returned again

Does any1 KNOW what causes this & HOW to stop it?  TY.

go into your AH settings folder and locate the stick.cfg file and rename it to stick.bak.  Now put in the stick.cfg you want to use.

Thx Ack-Ack for ur advice ... did per ur recommendation, however
my delight was short-lived, as the proverbial BAD penny the pro-
blematic stick.cfg file showed up AGAIN .

I tried deleting it, removing it & erasing it & NOTHING helps!

I use no stick scale at all, and I still consider myself to be at least decent...Also sometimes blacking out is going to happen...The best thing to do is remember which way your opponent was heading before blacking out, and continue to manuver in that direction while blacked out...

Speed doesn't black you out - g's do ( and the knack it has of making your blood go to different places in your body). I guess you could black out at 25 mph on Jupiter during a sharp turn. But turning hard a 3 zillion mph in empty space should cause no problems.

I.e, if the g meter doesn't say 6 (5.5?) or so g's, and it isn't broken you shouldn't be blacking out no matter how fast you're going.

Happy. It's not only scaling, it's throttle use. Lower your IAS, especially before diving in. AH2, is definately different in every aspect....except Channel 1's BS. Good Luck, Oz
