Question for Pyro
« on: June 22, 2004, 06:10:10 PM »
Pyro, would a Hurri IIC Desert skin be acceptable even though the model lacks the vokes filter (such as the one o n the IID)?

I want to do one of the HurriIICs from 213 squad. that my uncle received his 1st DFC in.

I don't see why not Ratty, considering people are working on desert Bf109s that were fitted with filters in RL and are not modelled in the game.

The  109 filters were quite small and less obvious than the big ugly vokes. Just want to hear it from the top before I consider putting any time into it.

That's fine.  It'd be nice if we could do trop versions of some planes, but I don't realistically see that happening.

Is the 3D modelling program you use something that HT bought with a license or is there a version the public can access. I have done some model in other sims using programs to edit poly etc...

Who cares?

As long as its not the same plane, you can always have a go!

Ratty, you have to do your uncles plane, you must! :)  Which other of his planes are you doing?

Guilty...I am that person who has done Ratty's uncles plane.
They use Multigen to make the aircraft models. Don't think there is a public version though.

Nexx, I was going to do his hurrIIc AK-W serial HL887, but he did fly the plane that kev has skinned. INfact he crashed that very plane on the Edku airfield hehe (guess the family is good at crashing or landing buggered planes).

You need the font used for squadron letters/numbers?
Or the roundels (found them are a psd file on the web :))

Very, very nice Kev!  I'd definitely fly that plane in the MA! :)

However, the exhaust weathering looks a bit off; it often curved down the side of the plane, like in the images below.  DsrtRat might have better pictures?

Kev, I got your other emails, the letters and roundels would be nice. I think I am going to do a AK-W just for fun:)
