Did he have his troops crash a large moving vehicle into a populated structure?

Do you think my question is unfair?  Do you know who he was?

Urban? Was he the first city-dwelling pope?
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

Not at all. He had no operational control, and we're not even sure what the hell he had hoped to accomplish.

Ah, but its clear what the poster hopes to accomplish, in a twisted, illogical, "Ill make you question if black is white" kind of way.

The islamics point to the crusades as an example of western (Christian) hypocracy.  I think the question is a fair one.  Are the deeds of usama bin laden analogous to those of Pope Urban II 900 odd years ago?

While you chew on that one consider this.  How far did the islamicists reach in to europe a mere 100 years after mohammads death?

Bonus question.  who stopped them and where was he from?

Popes are overrated and undermodeled. They need more ompf and a mod to make my water into wine.

I think you're onto something, Storch.

Pope Urban's middle name was 'Thomas'.

Pope        T Urban

I can see the similarities with OBL emerging already!
