I happen to like the B26 very much!  My first kill last night was a B26!!

Oh!  You mean to fly!!??!!   Whoooops!  So sorry!  Can't help ya there!!

As far as the 109 goes.  I flew it last night!  Not too bad!

Four JG2 members (Weazel, Propnut, DoctorYO, and I), all in Me109s, flew to F5 and had some fun with those bad mannered bishes!!    Our formation was so awe inspiring the bishes were memorized for about 3 seconds. I lasted longer than usual!  Even got a kill!

Me thinks me will fly that crate more often!!

Great stuff HTC keep it comming. I for one realy dig the high res gages. I can actualy read them now

no squeak on the B26. The read me txt said the art work was not done. Lets check and talk about the flight model.

Historicaly those planes had to deal with flack more than fighters as the lw was usualy going after the 24's and 17's over Germany while the 26's were hitting targets in France at the same time.  times that the 26 ran to lw formations with out fighter escort they got mauled like most any bomber.

see ya on line

My first flight and second in the B-26 were very productive.  I certainly assisted in increasing someones kill ratio!
Actually I had a problem too.  After firing a couple of test bursts.....the guns quit firing. I had plenty of ammo, but they didn't fire.  After getting back in the pie-let position and jumping back to gunner-same thing....a few bursts then nothing.  It was better the second flight.  Guns dont overheat do they?
I love the terrain and B26!  Keep it coming!

Although I prefer the B-17 and didn't intend to fly the B-26 after having a look at its defensive armament I had to do a ride in it because I discoed in a B-17 otw to a HQ.

Of course the P-51 that showed up over target (like the other P-51 that joined the party later) tried to go to the belly position. Well, the jinking and banking to deny this belly shot brought me from 20k to 5k on the 50 miles  home, but surprisingly I managed to damage both P-51's fatally.

This bird can be tough if properly flown, but certainly isn't my favourite ride, too much action

BTW, noticed the 'short bursts' syndrome too. Squeezed the trigger and got only short burst, but at least I would get one burst per button press).

The way I see the new B26 is this; individually it is toast against any opposition, so long as the opposition is determined and careful. Collectively it can damage a base in a hurry because of its good climb, speed, and useful bombload.

B26's would be more attractive to me because they get to a useful alt faster. Having to cross the mountains in a B17 means at least a 25-30 minute climb, and often I only have an hour to spend. Further, if I spend 45 minutes climbing only to get discoed near target...

The B26 has one more thing in its favor; the cheek .50's. Once the ack is down, and the bombload is dropped, the .50's can be used to strafe structures. Maybe they won't do much damage right now, but I assume someday soon they will (if not already). It goes without saying that vehicles could receive some tender attentions too.
