Coming to Austin and San Antonio on Monday
« on: June 25, 2004, 02:44:04 PM »
I am coming to Austin and San Antonio on Monday June 28 and will be staying in Austin till July 1st. If anyone wants to get together for a couple of beers let me know. This is a work trip and I am going to try and sneak in a trip to the Alamo while in San Antonio. I haven't been there since 1986.

Reschke,

San Antonio:
Tour the Alamo (forget what Skull says, it has a LOT of history and is very interesting), go to the River Walk for the beauty of it, eat at Shilo's for lunch (or go to Mi Tierra if you want authentic Tex Mex), and visit the Mission's around San Antone for some more history.

Austin:
Go to the Broken Spoke if you want to see a real old-time honky-tonk, Chuy's has nice food, Antone's for live music, 6th street for a selection of bars and live music, and visit SRV's statue in Zilker Park (south side of the river north of Auditorium Shores).

And, hey, if you can make it to Houston again we can get a couple of Shiner's at Wild West, I know the GM there and we could drink for free.

Cheers mate.

I been San Antonio like 2-3 times in my life and it was the bestest place to go for Springbreak vacation.  I remember how it was when my parents brought tickets to go see NBA San Antonio Spurs and it was awesome.  :)

Thanks guys the flight leaves in a couple of hours. Kyle I hope I get to Houston later this summer. I didn't get a chance to see a few people I need to but covering North America as a territory is begining to rule it out till the fall or early winter.
