Lone Wadi: I guess we're never going to see that little Navajo girl again.

Josie Wales: Yeah...but it's always like that.

Lone Wadi: Like what?

Josie Wales Whenever I get to liking somebody they ain't around for long.

Lone Wadi: I noticed when you get to disliking someone, they ain't around for long either.

"One of the things that always worries me about being one of the few is how we keep getting.............fewer."

"He's dead, I'm crippled, and you're lost. I suppose it's always like that, I mean war."

"I'll hunt you down and kill you, every mother's son of you"

"You can't give the enemy a break. Send him to Hell."

"You remember it. Remember every bit of it, 'cause we are on the eve of a day that people are going to talk about long after we are dead and gone. And you know what? It gives me goose bumps just thinking about being part of it."

"Out here, due process is a bullet."

German officer: What are you doing over here by the wire?
Hilts: Well, like I told Max here, I was trying to get my...
German Soldier: [Voice] Achtung!
[Von Luger enters]
Von Luger: What were you doing by the wire?
Hilts: Well, like I told Max... I was trying to cut my way through your wire because I wanta get out.

Hilts: I haven't seen Berlin yet, from the ground or from the air, and I plan on doing both before the war is over.

Von Luger: Are all American officers so ill-mannered?
Hilts: Yeah, about 99 percent.
Von Luger: Then perhaps while you are with us you will have a chance to learn some. Ten days isolation, Hilts.
Hilts: *Captain* Hilts.
Von Luger: Twenty days.
Hilts: Right. Oh, uh, you'll still be here when I get out?
Von Luger: Cooler.

(The above scene is where my signature comes from)

Hilts: Wait a minute. You aren't seriously suggesting that if I get through the wire... and case everything out there... and don't get picked up... to turn myself in and get thrown back in the cooler for a couple of months so you can get the information you need?
Bartlett: Yes.

Bartlett: One has to ask some very strange things in the job I have.

Hilts: How many you taking out?
Bartlett: Two hundred and fifty.
Hilts: Two hundred and fifty?
Bartlett: Yeh.
Hilts: You're crazy. You oughta be locked up. You, too. Two hundred and fifty guys just walkin' down the road, just like that?

From the end of the same movie:

Von Luger: It looks, after all, as if you will see Berlin before I do.
"I haven't seen Berlin yet, from the ground or the air, and I plan on doing both, BEFORE the war is over."

from "we were soldiers"

Mel Gibson "maybe you should check out one of these new plastic rifles for yourself"

Sargent "time comes that I need one, they'll be laying all over the ground"

from the same movie.

"good morning Sargent."
"how do you know what kind of a G-- D--- day it is?"

"beautiful day Sargent"
"what are you now?  the fluff'n weatherman?"

that Sargent was one of my favorite characters of all time.  probably because he's a lot like my dad was when he was younger.

Those are great. I loved that movie. The fact that it was a true story doesn't hurt it at all. Mel Gibson and Sam Elliot worked well together.

LOL many good ones.
Here's another from Dirty Harry.

"I know what you're thinking, punk. Did he fire six shots or only five? Well to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, I've kinda lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel lucky?' Well, do ya PUNK!?"
