How about that new ack?

My impresssion is that field ack is LESS deadly in 1.05 than 1.04. In fact I commented on that to my squad prior to reading this thread.

TBM torpedoing doesnt require that you fly into the acks. The torpedos travel i would guess about 3-5ooo yards.Drop when acks starts up hard turn 180 degrees and lead your shots.
Its suicide to run straight at the acks as it should be.
The only time i find the ack a real problem is dive bombing a fleet but as i refine my dives i drop from higher and higher as im sure the divebombers had to in the war.
Watch those old films of kamakazi's and you'll see the place looks like a mass of tracer.
I like the levels of ack.It means using your skill to avoid them.As for base ack i just think its different and slightly less predictable. In 1.04 you could take out all the acks if you kept speed up and jinked, now you have to take your time and works your way through each ack instead of taking 4 -5 in 1 pass.
just adapt your tactics.

notice i said SUCCESSFUL ATTACK, sure you cand drop you bombs from 10k over fleet and drop torps form 3k out but yer not gonna hit a damn thing most of the time. and in the MA yes there are more planes attacking it but guess what there are more people on it too! how about that.  everything is in praportion ACCEPT the acks id there are 15 planes attacking them or 2 they are just  as dense, so thats why i want to turn them off.  I know this is only h2h and HTC doesent get paid for h2h so they could care less and all but it sure would be nice..nice what a concept.

I like the new AAA, it's nice to see that the cround gunners now have to deal with both gravity and dispersion now. I'm not finding it majorly more difficult to take out the AAA.

However because of the AAA being less accurate it's actually harder to dodge, let me try and explain...

Previsously because the AAA was always aiming at where you would be all you had to do was make sure you're more than a plane's width from where the AAA thought you were, so gentle evasives worked fine. Now however the AAA is sparying /around/ where they think you will be you have to avoid that whole area to avoid being hit so you actually have to jinmk more.

Well, that's what I find anyway =)

Acks are less lethal now.  Easier to take them out.

Field acks are manned by a bunch of hung-over two year olds.

I took out six acks at a medium field and never got one ping from any ack.  It was an osti that brought me down.  It seems the ack rate of fire is less, and it is certainly less accurate.
