I fly the hurri 2c a lot (hours and hours and hours and hours). With being a relatively slow plane, and my protective headgear limiting my vision and thus my SA, I take a lot of hits from enemy fire.
However, and this is my main point here, whenever I get any sort of damage to the landing gear, I am, at that point, dead. I have been totally unsuccessful at landing a hurri with either gear-up, or gear-down and damaged.
I don't think its my errors, as I've had good luck landing anything else gear-up (163, 262, 51, 109F, few others). Could someone maybe have a look at this, or let me know if you already have? Its quite frustrating. Last night, I was taxiing, and overshot the taxiway near the rearm point. I was near the waters edge, and dropped a wheel into one the the shallow 'inlets' that dot the shoreline. As soon as the wheel hit the water, the wing snapped off and I barrel-rolled to a colorful and violent demise. I know I can expect slim chances on a hot landing with gear up/damaged, but having the same results at idle taxiing on the grass seems a bit much.
Anyways, I'm not sure any weirdness with the hurri would be much of a priority nowadays, but I'd love any feedback I can get from HT and company on this one.
Cheers, , and keep up the good work
