hehe.  i used to be like you using a spinner when i went to the sierra's to fish in the sumnmer.
Stock trout= teh dumb!
Native trout= teh smart!

rip i only use dry flies on still water and shallow rivers and ponds other wise i use wets they work much better.

Also btw i lost 3 fish on my fish hole i found:eek:
i suck at landing them on a fly rod.

Spinners for big fish, flies for widdle fish. ;)

As far as landing them, I've always felt that a fish caught and lost is better than no fish at all!

Aye, fly fishing=more patience, and time, neither of which I possess at this stage...

Not my fish, but I've caught some good sized northerns and muskies before..

rip fyi if you bring a spinner to yellowstone the only real place to fish is on Yellowstone Lake.  is impossible to fish with one anywhere else there is so much moss in those rivers.

edit: they are tring to get rid of the lake trout, which somehow got into yellow lake, heart lake, and shone lake.  heart lake is the best place to fish for them if you want to take the hike up a mountain and down.  you can catch as many as you want and keep them all.  No possession limit.

Yellowstone lake.  All lake trout must be killed.  either keep them or puncture air bladder.

shosone is regular limits.

lake trout also usually live down deep. around 50-600 feet and they are usually bigger than 20 inches.
